Attendance: 52

Trafford: Not available

Hyde United: Michael Jones, Lee Rick (Daniel Douglas-Pringle), Mark Lees (Dean Stott), Scott McNiven, Ricky Mercer, Nathan D'Laryea, Matty Burke, Tom Manship, Glynn Hurst, Scott Mooney (David McNiven), Kevin Holsgrove. Subs not used: Ben Rowbotham, Gerry Harrison.

Both teams went into the game having not played for over a month, but Hyde could have taken the lead within the first minute as Scott Mooney found himself with just Trafford ‘keeper, Aaron Tyrer to beat. The ball was scrambled away and apart from a long range effort from Kevin Holsgrove later in the half, Hyde never looked like scoring.

Both teams struggled with the novelty of playing again but once Shelton Payne had given the home side the lead with an excellent finish on 71 minutes, there was no way back for the Tigers. Interestingly the goal game straight from a Hyde attack when they lost possession and Trafford broke clear. Nathan D’Laryea unfortunately put through his own goal a minute later and right at the death Greg Hall added a third to complete a thoroughly miserable night for the Tigers.

The only piece of comfort for Hyde was the return from injury of Daniel Douglas Pringle for the last twenty minutes. On this showing they certainly need him to boost their dreadful scoring record with just one goal in the last four games.
