Managers of Hyde FC

Neil Tolson
September 2008 to April 2011

Neil Tolson took over from Steve Waywell and oversaw a tough period in the history of the club. Initially he worked alongside Chris Brass but his position as Academy coach with Bury FC led to a conflict as so Tolson took the reigns on his own. A journeyed ex professional, he was a popular player at Ewen Fields and it was widely recognised that he should be given a shot at the job. His first season saw Hyde escape relegation only on a technicality as King's Lynn were demoted. Working with a much reduced budget his 2009/10 side achieved a respectable 15th place, especially given the testing times in September 2010 when the club technically didn't exist for a week, having been wound up by the High Court before being overturned. Tolson was relieved of his duties in early April 2011 with Hyde staring relegation in the face after a poor run of results. The final five games being overseen by players Scott McNiven and Steve Halford who went unbeaten and kept the club up on the final day. Neil went on to become asistant to Lee Sinnott at Altrincham and helped the club gain promotion to the Conference in 2014.
