Match Details: Saturday 26th October 2019 F.A. Trophy 1st Qualifying Round
Attendance: 360 Buxton: Shenton Harrison Brown O'Grady N Degirolamo Chalmers Oyibo Wilson Whitham D DeGirolamo Hardy Subs: Jennings Phillips Kilner Roscoe Dwyer Hyde exited the FA Trophy at the first attempt, with a last minute winner sending Buxton through to the next round, defeating the tigers 3-2. Hyde were ahead 10 minutes into the game when a quick break saw Turner cross into the box to find Tom Pratt who found the bottom corner. But, the tigers good work was undone by some poor defending from a set piece as Chalmers broke free from his man at the far post, heading back across goal for Nico De Girolamo to get the final touch before goal. Before the break Hyde were back in front when the referee pointed to the spot after a Buxton handball, Paddy Lane confidently stepping up to find the back of the net. Some great football was played at times after half time to break down Buxton but they failed to result in goals being added to the tally. Set pieces were again a downfall for Hyde when Buxton levelled after a quick free kick was allowed to be taken, to the confusion and anger of the Hyde players and supporters, Diego De Girolamo the scorer. However, with the game destined for a replay, Buxton sealed a last gasp win when Hyde failed to clear a goalmouth scramble from a corner, the ball falling to Liam Hardy who blasted into the back of the net.
