Matlock Town inflicted the tigers second home defeat in a row with goals from Luke Hinsley and Craig Westcarr.

Matlock despite early bookings for Hinsley and Margetts, had the better of the first half with Jordan Chappell the most dangerous early on having several chances but hitting them all straight at Peter Crook in the Hyde goal.

The opening goal came on 33 minutes when a long throw from Beevers came back out to him, whipping in a cross to Hinsley whose header looped over Crook who couldn’t keep it out.

Hyde came out in the second half with an attacking intent and earned an equaliser from a goalmouth scramble, the ball falling to Nicky Platt who was unmarked at the back post to tap in from close range.

For the majority of the second half it was the home side who had the better of the play but only having numerous half chances to show for it.

The winner came on 75 minutes with Hyde failing to clear their lines, a Beevers cross falling to Westcarr who managed to poke the ball into the net from 6 yards out.

Chib Chilaka, a player who rarely enters the book, received a red card on the 81st minute for a trailing arm on Wiley to end Hyde’s hopes of a comeback.
