The Tigers turned it on in front of the cameras in a cup tie which turned out to be a stroll. Simon Yeo had a shot well saved by the Cheadle goalkeeper early on and Lloyd Richardson headed over from a corner. George Switzer sliced a clearance into the path of Denny but Edgington saved well. Simon Yeo scored Hyde's first on 29 minutes when he was played in by Dolby & Haw following a flowing move down the left. Simon Yeo doubled his tally on 38 minutes when he rose to head home Dolby's corner. Yeo then missed a chance when he headed over Wilson's cross. Steve Haw volleyed home Tony Rodwell's high cross on 45 minutes to put Hyde three up at the break. Denny poked home following a free-kick on 48 minutes for Cheadle. Simon Yeo headed his hat-trick on 68 minutes after Hall had crossed. On 70 minutes Simon Yeo scored his seventh goal in 3 days when he pounced behind the defence and placed the ball under the keeper. Slack defending by Hyde then let in Cheadle but Edgington parried the shot behind. Yeo's replacement Prince Moncrieffe rounded the keeper on 78 minutes to finish off the scoring, but their was still time for Haw to hit the crossbar and Dolby to have his volley tipped around the post.
