Altrincham: Not available

The Robins started well and on 6 minutes Paul Ellender connected with a cross but Edgington superbly tipped his header round the post. Altrincham's aerial domination almost led to a goal on 31 minutes as a corner was knocked down into a crowd of players but Hyde managed to clear. On the stroke of halftime, Edgington was adjudged to have picked up a backpass and from the resulting freekick, Paul Taylor managed to block the shot and clear. Hyde came out for the second half with all guns blazing with two shots from Lloyd Richardson being well stopped by Stuart Coburn. Simon Yeo shot just wide of the post and Steve Haw should have done better with a curling shot. Altrincham won the game in the 67th minute when Paul Taylor and Kurt Edgington got into a mix up, Taylor heading past the Hyde keeper and Leroy Chambers pounced to fire into an empty goal. Edgington made a good save from a point blank Phil Power header before Coburn was lucky not to be sent off at the other end after he blatantly flattened Prince Moncrieffe who was through on goal.
