Hyde's Good away record in the North East was dented as they suffered a 2 - 0 defeat at Spennymoor. They also had defender Paul Taylor sent off for a handball offence in the penalty area after just 27 minutes. In fact Spennymoor took the lead from the resulting penalty as Howarth gave Edgington no chance. The game saw the Tigers have much possession but without the skills of the injured Neil Hall Hyde struggled to penetrate the Moors defence. Late in the second half Spennymoor were awarded another penalty this time when Kurt Edgington brought down one of their strikers. Kurt was lucky only to receive a yellow card for the offence. However he did redeem himself with a splendid save from a Howarth spot kick. But with only three minutes remaining the advantage of the extra man told as Howarth beat Edgington with a low shot to give Spennymoor a 2 - 0 victory.
