Hyde showed flashes of brilliance in attack, but also the frailty caused by pressure as they look to get over the line for promotion.

Droylsden are determined to play out from the back, so Hyde looked to press high and force errors. In the opening 10 minutes, Hyde were able to win the ball back in the middle third as Droylsden looked to play out, and were immediately threatening in attack. A rested Luke Porritt was able to force the right bak onto his heels, and the energy and movement of Dominic Marie and Elliott Rokka caused lots of problem, supported by Big Khamsuk who was always available to get on the ball in the pocket behind them.

The opening goal came on 3 minutes when Rokka made an excellent run across the back four before dropping on to a ball played expertly in behind by Ross Daley, Rokka controlled first touch and smash home left footed from 10 yards. 1-0 Hyde United

The Tigers looked sharp and ready to extend their lead with two or three half chances, but Droylsden hit back when a high ball played into the right back position wasn't dealt with by James Burke and the overload allowed the left winger to fire a cross in for Kiheeney to finish calm past Crooke. 1-1

Hyde stayed calm, got back on the front foot and retook the lead when Porritt was hacked down again, allowing Janni Lipka to deliver an expert free kick onto the penalty spot where an unmarked Dominic Marie glanced a perfect header into the far corner of the Droylsden goal.

HT 2-1 HYDE UNITED FC

The second half started with a confident Hyde getting on the ball and pressing Droylsden back. You have to applaud their determination to always play out, but it does cause them some problems, and Hyde could and should have scored a couple, but the final pass let them down.

On 70 minutes Darren replaced the hard working Khamsuk, and Droylsden were able to exploit the space in midfield this opened up, allowing them to play slightly higher and create more opportunities for their forward line.

Max Leonard joined the action, replacing Rokka and he also could have had an immediate impact with a chance to score for himself not taken, and an opportunity to play in Porritt for a certain goal, which was overhit and evaded the Hyde forward.

Droylsden grew in confidence as Hyde dropped to protect the lead, changing to five at the back with Harry Coates dropping in at centre half. The Bloods really should have left Ewen Fields with a share of the points, with the clock running down when their number 9 ran clear through on goal, but the outstanding Peter Crooke stayed upright until the last minute saving the goal bound shot with his left foot.

3 Minutes injury time were well managed and the Tigers celebrated three points and a guaranteed place in the playoffs.
