Hyde were professional from start to finish and fully deserved to return to the right side of the pennines with all 3 points.

Hyde set up in a 4-2-3-1 with new signing Elliott Rokka on the right, and Big Khamsuk starting in central midfield for the suspended Ross Daley.

On a difficult, and deceptively bobbly pitch, it was Hyde who looked in control of the ball, and the tempo of play, with Tadcaster happy to look to hit their two front men early or to switch for the speedy Number 11 whenever they had possession in the back four.

Hyde we more than capable of dealing with this, and the best defence in the league, organised and sorted it out.

In midfield the Tigers had great energy, with Janni Lipka breaking up play, along side Big Khamsuk who stepped in and stepped up.

It was these two who combined to break up an attack down the Hyde left, playing the ball forward where it was intercepted, but a square pass was easily cut out on the half way line by Elliott Rokka who looked up and slipped a through ball for Adam Gilchrist too run onto and he took the ball in his stride before taking it around the keeper and sliding home from 15 yards to score his first goal for the Tigers. 1-0 Hyde United

Both teams huffed and puffed for the remainder of the half with our creating anything of note.

No changes at half time and the Tigers were quickly out of the blocks. Good half chances for Luke Porritt and Max Leonard and a more than decent shout for a penalty when Luke Porritt was taken out as he made a driving run into the box, but the referee gave a goal kick when it was either a corner or a foul.

Max Leonard hit the upright with a rasping left foot shot, and Elliott Rokka and Big Khamsuk both had shots deflected for corners, and finally the Tigers got the ball into the back of the net through a Max Leonard header from a Janni Lipka corner, only to see the linesman flag for a push from 20 yards further away than the referee.

The final 10 minutes did see some pressure from Tadcaster as they looked to get a goal, but in reality, the Tigers defence and their outstanding keeper held firm to see out the game.

A fantastic 3 points on the road in what could have been a banana skin game for Hyde. The boys look totally focussed, and the professional manner in which Darren, Dave and the rest of the staff go about their management of expectations is a pleasure to see.

Several very good performance today on a sticky pitch. The back four were very good, and helps them that they are playing in front of the best keeper in the league. Peter Crook came to claim everything today, and that helps the boys to do their jobs. My MOM though was Kyle Brownhilll. He has looked outstanding since getting his run in the team, and his quality at left back is a major positive for the run in.

Midfield looked strong with Janni doing what he does best and Big Khamsuk starting and completing 90 minutes for the first time in a few week with his usual quality and a performance which he grew in to.

The forward line looks good. Pace, aggression, ability and enough quality on the bench that no one has to worry if they have to come off. Adam Gilchrist makes very intelligent runs and can finish, supported today by Rokka, Leonard & Porritt. Ben Deegan won every header when he came on and with a couple of training sessions to work out how best to play off him he certainly adds a threat.
