Hyde were determined to bounce back following the unexpected result on Tuesday at Ossett Albion, and Bamber Bridge also needed to push for maximum points after their home draw to Droylsden on the same night. The result was a nervy opening 45 minutes with both teams looking well below the sides who have played so well through the majority of the season.

Neither side started well, and the ball spent more time being lost than it was in possession. It took a moment of individual brilliance from Luke Porritt to spark any life into the game, running at pace onto a pinpoint Janni Lipka pass in the 18th minute before outpacing the Bamber No.2, cutting inside and showing great composure to lift his head and fire a fierce shot through the keeper from an acute angle. 1-0 Hyde United FC

Hyde enjoyed a little more of the ball, but in reality it was a tense game, and with the first half clock running down, Bamber capitalised on a mix up at the back to allow them to draw level with the forward running clear onto a long ball from the keeper to slot home past the stranded Peter Crook in the Hyde goal. 1-1

HT 1-1

The second half was such more like it from the Tigers. There was a period of real domination against this extremely talented Bamber Bridge side, with 10 - 15 minutes spent almost entirely in the Bamber Bridge half with seven corners and two excellent blocks keeping out goal bound shots from Paddy Miller and Max Leonard. On 25 minutes Hyde took the lead again when a corner from the left by Janni Lipka was headed home off the inside of the post by the tower Tyrone Gay. 2-1 Tigers

Darren made changes with Big Khamsuk, Dom Marie & David Brown replacing Gilchrest, Leonard & Jones, and the boys kept strong through the final 15 minutes plus seven minutes added time, to see the points safely into the bag.
