A game of high quality and high scoring. With both teams looking to finish the season with positive intent, it was attacking which took priority with a feast of excellently crafted goals.

Both sides started well, and there was a pleasing ebb and flow to the game. Hyde created the first few half chances, but they were by no means in control, and Clitheroe looked comfortable and threatening in possession.

On 33 minutes Hyde opened the scoring with good play down the left allowing Leon Osborne to play a ball inside to Omry Perel before making the run in behind the Clitheroe back four, receiving a well weighted reverse pass from Perel and sliding the ball home. 1-0 Hyde

Two minutes later and Christopher Sutherland ran on to a through ball and lashed his shot against the post. The remaining 10 minutes of the half were played out in midfield and Hyde looked to have secured the lead, but on 45 minutes a mistake in midfield had Clitheroe with an extra man and they made the Tigers pay with a smart finish inside Russ Saunders right hand post.

HT 1-1

The second half started with a Clitheroe break and the tigers conceded with Lawrance Hunter out of position and a powerful driven shot across Saunders into he left hand corner. 2-1 Clitheroe

This sparked Hyde into life and they grabbed hold of the ball and the game. Omry Perel got his first on 52 minutes, latching onto a ball into the box which was played into his path by Christopher Sutherland, with Perel firing home from 8 yards. 2-2

The Tigers were looking sharp and took the lead on 67 minutes with a quality build up, freeing up Omry Perel to score his second of the match making it 3-2. Clitheroe had not recovered from this when a Tigers corner was played to the back post by Perel for an unmarked Harry Coates to head home. 4-2 and the tigers must have thought that was it, but Clitheroe had other ideas.

On 84 minutes they scored a well crafted goal, with play switching from their left wing to the right through midfield before being rifled home from 12 yards to make it 4-3. With the clock running out, a careless free kick given away by substitute James Burke, was struck with power forcing an outstanding save by Russ Saunders, but the ball cannoned down off the crossbar and was bundled into the Hyde goal. 4-4

Four minutes of injury time didn't result in any further clear cut chances and the teams shared the points on a hot day in Hyde infront of an appreciative crowd of 377.
