Match Details: Saturday 11th March 2017 Northern Premier League First Division North
Attendance: 277 Hyde United: Russell Saunders, Ryan Ellison, Lawrence Hunter, Sam Fitton, Harry Coates, Kyle Harrison, Chris Sutherland, Janni Lipka, Leon Osborne, Phattaraphol 'Big' Khamsuk (Ayrton Bevins), Pete Boyle (Jamal Branker). Subs not used: Louis Holt, Lewis Haydock, Oliver Ford. Radcliffe FC: Haslam, Mbolkele, Fitton, Natatche, Kpohomouh, Torpey, Hindle, Zhekov, Reilly, Rokka, Baldeh. Subs: Ahmed, Raheem, Burns, Eislet, Leigh. With three senior key players missing through suspension, Hyde were forced to bring in a number of the younger Academy players and change the system to accommodate them. This may not have been an ideal situation but it gives Darren and his back room staff the chance to look at players and reward their dedication and commitment to Hyde through the season, with a good amount of time pitch minutes over the coming week. If last Saturdays game was like your best holiday ever, then the first half today felt like your first Monday back at work.The crowd and the team were flat, and the opening 45 minutes were notable only for the fact that one of the teams held on to the ball long enough to put it into the back of the net. Hyde started well and Peter Boyle had an early chance to score from 6 yards, blasting over the bar, and looked to have earned a stone wall penalty on 25 minutes when he was pulled to the ground as he tried to get onto a Chris Sutherland cross, but the referee wasn't able to see clearly from the other half of the pitch and waved the appeal away. HT 1-0 Radcliffe The second half was much better from Hyde, moving the ball at pace, controlling the tempo of the play throughout, and getting lots of joy down the right hand side, with Christopher Sutherland a constant threat. On 76 minutes, substitute Jamal Branker made an immediate impact, turning his man and delivering a quick driven cross into the box for Lawrance Hunter to score his second in as many games, drawing the Tigers level. Hyde created a couple more half chances, but the game finished with a share of the points, and both clubs starting to look at next season, which is a position Hyde have not found themselves in for a number of years. It is something we should all enjoy and take time to reflect on a job well done. FT 1-1 Some decent displays across the squad, but MOM was clearly Janni Lipka who continues to impress and improve with each game. His performance was all the more impressive when you take into account that he was really not well ahead of kick off. |
