The Tigers made hard work of this victory against a Barrow side full of energy. Jody Banim went on one his runs on nine minutes before testing Horridge in the Barrow goal with a stinging drive which was pushed for a corner. Kojoe Taylor "scored" from the corner but he had actually punched the ball and it was disallowed. Stuart Walker hit a speculative shot from the edge of the box that Horridge let slip between his legs and according to those level, over the goal line although neither the referee or his assistant signaled a goal. Barrow's only real chance of the half arrived from a corner kick which drifted wide of the back post. Simon Yeo beat Horridge to the ball but the goalkeeper lept to his feet to save his shot in style and Yeo was again unlucky when he hit the post after Hall had
played him through. Banim went close early in the second half with a dipping shot just over the top and Horridge again foiled Yeo with a good save. The Tigers scored the winner on 58 minutes after a scramble Tobin hit a shot which was deflected into the path of Stuart Walker who slid the ball home underneath Horridge's attempted block. Peter Band went on a long run and fed Walker whose curling shot from eighteen yards was excellently tipped over by Horridge in full flight. For all Hyde's chances the game was still very tight and Barrow went close when a left wing cross was headed over from ten yards. The last chance of the game also fell to Barrow in the sixth minute of stoppage time they won a corner which Graham Bennett did well to block on the six yard line.
