Simon Yeo had a great chance to score in the first minute as he burst through the defence but Rhodes saved his shot using his feet. Poor defending by Gus Wilson saw Emley go close with a dipping shot from twelve yards but it just cleared the crossbar. A cross from the left by Yeo saw Peter Band head the ball down but Hulse couldn't connect as the ball sped past him and wide. Emley took the lead on 18 minutes when a deep corner was headed back across goal and Miles Thorpe lashed home from close range. The game became a midfield battle until a minute from half time when Yeo made a run down the right and pulled the ball back for Rob Hulse to equalise.
First Half injury time saw Yeo provide another cross but Peter Band on the stretch could only manage to hit the post. Emley went 2-1 ahead on 56 minutes when Miles Thorpe headed home a corner. Hyde were awarded a penalty on 58 minutes and with regular taker Paul Taylor still injured it was left for Simon Yeo to have a go. Rhodes anticipated his kick though and dived to his right to push the ball for a corner. Tobin's corner kick was excellent and Rob Hulse rose highest to power an equaliser. Emley won the game on 75 minutes when Darren Day chipped Bennett following some more bad set piece defending from Hyde although Jody Banim did strike the crossbar in the final minute of the game.
