Match Details: Saturday 29th October 2016 Northern Premier League First Division North
Attendance: 129 Ossett Town: Overton Lucas Jackson Wright Gay Peterson Mackie Ridley Ellam Frost Riley Subs: Curtis Farnhill Terrill Oppong Sent Off: Wright Hyde set up in an attacking 4-3-3 and it was pleasing to see them set the early tempo. Ossett were coming off the back of some decent results away from home, and set up in a 4-1-4-1 looking to hit Hyde on the break with the hard working Danny Frost up front. Hyde made the early running and the chances, with an opening 20 minutes which had them in the Ossett defensive third for good spells. Hyde created two or three good half chances, and forced a decent save from the Ossett keeper from a Matt Dempsey free kick on 40 minutes. Saunders in the Hyde goal was a spectator for the opening 45 and the half finished 0-0 HT 0-0 The second half started with Hyde playing down the hill and on 50 minutes Ossett made a substitution to match Hyde in a 4-3-3. Almost immediately, the card happy ref was involved following a tussle between Pugh and Wright, after Wright hacked down Pugh off the ball unseen by the referee, with Pugh reacting by clearly slapping Wright in the face, but the referee decided after consultation with his linesman that both players had to be sent off. With two fewer bodies on the field, space opened up and Ossett were first to capitalise when they managed to overload the left wing and deliver a good ball into the box which Kyle Brownhill headed behind, when he probably could have left it. The resulting corner was headed home unchallenged by Ossett No.7 Jackson to put them 1-0 up on 55 minutes. Following the goal Hyde changed shape to a 3-4-2 with Dempsey dropping in to the defence and Brownhill and Burke pushing up the field. This resulted in Hyde getting hold of the ball and really starting to put pressure on Ossett, who were trying to run down the clock taking time to take throw ins, dead ball kicks and free kicks. Any Bishop looked to have been hauled down in the box on 70 minutes, but the referee for once decided not to get involved, and on 78 minutes a direct ball over the top from Coates glanced off the top of the Ossett defenders head, and Andy Bishop ran onto the ball, driving into the box and forced an excellent save from Overton in the Ossett goal as he hammered in a shot from 8 yards. Big Kkamsuk created a yard of space for himself on 82 minutes on the edge of the Osett box and his right foot shot towards goal which was well held by the keeper. With the clock running down Hyde rolled on Cadman and Branke, and the latter picked up a pass from Brownhill on the left wing, 40 yards out, and drilled a cross to the far post which was met by Burke running at full pace to fire a bullet header across the keeper into the Ossett goal.1-1 Ossett had a great chance to retake the lead, with a turn and volley on 90 minutes and Hyde created a couple more half chances and a corner in the final seconds, but the referee blew his whistle on 93 minutes and the teams shared the points.
