Worksop went close early on when a cross/shot just drifted wide of the far post. Peter Band had a close range effort blocked after some good play down the Hyde left before Yeo broke clear of the defence but pulled his shot wide from a difficult angle. Worksop's Stafford had a shot cleared off the line and then they went close when an 18 yard shot flew past the post. Worksop took the lead on 25 minutes when Field rose to head past Bennett following a well taken corner. The Tigers came back strongly and Yeo burst through and chipped Holmshaw in the Worksop goal only to see his effort bounce back off the post. The second half saw Banim's stinging half volley stopped by Peter Bands head and then Graham Bennett made a brave stop at the feet of Whitehead. Banim again went near with a 12 yard shot but the real Hyde pressure started when Wilson replaced Band and The Tigers pushed Paul Taylor upfront. The big centre half almost scored with a reaction volley but the shot went wide and he was sure there was a handball in the box as were most of the Hyde spectators but nothing was given. For the last 10 minutes Hyde pressurized the Worksop defence with no real sign of any breakthrough until, in the 90th minute, Brendan Aspinall powered home Neil Hall's corner to secure a point for Hyde.
