Two late goals from Chris Sharp and a Robbie Booth penalty gave the Seagulls their first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Hyde.

Colwyn Bay rode their luck earlier with Hyde twice hitting the bar and putting Colwyn Bay under some pressure at times, particularly after John Dillon had to go off with a knee injury before half-time, but the game turned in the 86th minute when a Cory Williams cross from the left fell for Sharp, who turned and rifled a shot past Josh Ollerenshaw.

Four minutes into added time, Carl Rodgers was tripped in the area by James Burke and Robbie Booth smashed the spot kick into the top corner of the net to make the points safe.

Delighted Colwyn Bay manager Ash Hoskin described his side’s work rate and effort as “second to none.”
“Hyde are a very good side. They play the game the right way and their movement off the ball was exceptional, but we stuck in there and in the end managed to grind out a very important win.
