Hyde travelled to Worcester still in search of their first league away win of the season Worcester City 4-1 Hyde The Tigers fell to another disappointing away defeat against Worcester City, who scored two in two minutes to kill the game off in what was a tight game at times for a 4-1 defeat. In truth it was a pretty quiet start to the game with Worcester spurning a chance after three minutes when Anthony Charles picked out Sean Geddes on the win, but Geddes cross evaded everyone in the box and Hyde cleared well. The Tigers had the first proper chance of the game when Luke Giverin’s free-kick scrambled around the City defence before falling to Perry Ng, who hit a scuffed shot straight at Nathan Vaughan. Michael Taylor was a real livewire for the home side and conceded a number of free-kicks around the box which the Hyde defence dealt with well. Taylor himself went close with a header from a corner before going into the referee’s book for a bad challenge on Jack Pritchard. It was City who made the most of their few chances after Taylor skipped past a few challenges before a great tackled by Ng put the ball out for a corner. The resulting corner was whipped in by Geddes right on the head of Mike Symons, who powered a header past Ed Wilczynski to give the home side the lead. Giverin nearly got a goal back straight for the Tigers with his effort skimming the outside of the post, before James Burke hit a shot from 25 yards out that deflected past the post and out for a corner which was cleared. The influential Taylor was then substituted, going off shaking his head, and that spurred on the Tigers who attacked well for the remainder of the first half, with Erike Sousa’s effort flying well over the bar, leaving the half to peter out. The second half started with Hyde on the front foot, and they grabbed an equaliser just 60 seconds after the restart through Pete Boyle. Connor Hughes got the ball on the left hand side and ran a good 30 yards before bursting into the box and putting the ball on a plate for Boyle to slam home. The goal was Boyle’s 40th of the season for the first team, reserves and youth teams in what has been a very good season for the 18 year old. It took Worcester just over 10 minutes to put themselves back in the lead through youngster Joao Sousa, who picked the ball up on the edge of the area and smacked it into the top corner, leaving Wilczynski with no chance in the Tigers goal. Connor Hughes was then put clean through on goal but Charles pulled the winger back cynically, earning a yellow card for his troubles, with the Tigers adamant that a red card should have been shown. The resulting free-kick was taken by Giverin who smashed it against the underside of the bar, with the ball falling to Boyle who nearly stabbed home the rebound. Then came two of the worst minutes of football Hyde have played all season, conceding first from a corner, as Geddes whipped another good set piece onto the head of Daniel Nti, who was unmarked and able to head home. Just two minutes later Nti had his second when substitute Jay Denny crossed into the Hyde box with Symons flicking onto the boot of Nti who fired past Wilczynski.
