Hyde fell to defeat at Tamworth in a game which manager Scott McNiven described as ‘’our worst performance of the season’’ to add insult to injury the Tigers had Chris Sedgewick sent off for 2 yellow cards in the 2nd half.

It was a game with very little quality throughout and this was summed up in the 1st half as despite the home side dominating they only had a weak Duane Courtney header to show for it which Chris Dilo easily saved, at the other end in a rare bright moment Shay McCarten crossed and Louis Almond’s header was deflected just wide.

It was the same pattern in the 2nd half with the Tigers squandering possession easily and Tamworth took the lead on 51 minutes when after a corner had been cleared the ball was clipped back in for Sam Oji, who looked offside, to flick his header past Dilo this caused much protest from the Hyde management and players in which Mr Barrett issued 3 yellow cards at the same time to Hyde players, Sedgewick being one of them and this was too prove costly later on.

It was soon 2-0 when a Tommy Wright shot took a horrible deflection to wrong foot Dilo and nestle in the corner to give the Tigers a mountain to climb.

They did rally with Adam Griffin whipping a superb left footed cross from the right which went across the goal but nobody in yellow could get a touch and they never tested Tony Breeden in the home goal after that.

It went worse for the Tigers when Sedgewick mis-timed a tackle and received a 2nd yellow card to compound a miserable day for him and the team.
