Leon Osborne cancelled out Phil Jevons early opener, as Harrogate Town fought back from a goal down to earn a replay in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying round.

It was a rather tame opening until that penalty incident, with both sides taking their time to settle.

The only sighting of goal coming from Ryan Crowther, who collected Scott Spencer’s pass on the left before cutting inside and firing a weak shot right at Craig McGillivray in the opposition goal.

Three minutes later, and it was the talking point of the half.

Scott Spencer made a great run into the Harrogate box and was well found by Adam Griffin, in came Alan White to foul the Hyde striker and give away the early penalty.

Phil Jevons stepped up and calmly sent the keeper the wrong way to put Hyde 1-0 up.

Not much happened in the way of chances for the rest of the half; until the 45th minute when the visitors should have drew level.

Chib Chilaka found himself in one on one, but shot straight at a grateful Dave Carnell.

The second period largely picked up where the first left off, with Hyde’s first chance coming on 51 minutes courtesy of a direct run by Crowther.

He darted down the left before offloading to Spencer who saw his shot blocked, from the rebound Jevons set up David Poole but his shot screwed wide.

On the hour mark and the equaliser was again almost found.

Hyde’s defence had to be on hand to clear after Carnell spilled a low shot, and from the resulting corner the ball flew right across the face of goal but wouldn’t cross the line.

Another one on one came about with just 13 minutes left, this time Jonny Allan being the guilty party who shot right at the Hyde keeper once again.

With just two minutes left what had seemed an inevitability happened, as Harrogate drew level.

Leon Osborne rising and heading home from a corner, to ensure his side earned themselves a replay.
