Hyde secured a comfortable victory against Bishop’s Stortford to keep the lead at the top at 5 points.
The league leaders were out of the traps early and Scott Spencer’s shot was spilled by Jordan Archer who just managed to grab the ball at the second attempt from an onrushing Godwin Abadaki.
The on-loan Tottenham ‘keeper wasn’t so lucky second time round when it opened up for Andy Pearson whose shot was spilled and Scott Spencer scored the rebound.
Archer redeemed himself when he saved Reece Gray’s volley.
Archer was caught in no man’s land from a through ball and Spencer rounded him but Jack Lampe cleared off the line.
In a rare Bishops attack Lampe’s shot had to be tipped round the post by David Carnell.
The Tigers extended their lead on 55 minutes when a lovely flowing move was ended with Ryan Crowther firing across Archer.
Spencer then had a shot saved by Archer at his near post when he really should have squared to Abadaki.
Hyde were rampant now and added a third when Reece Gray pinched the ball in midfield and played in Spencer who coolly finished when one-on-one with Archer, and he repeated the trick again, to complete his hat-trick, 6 minutes later after Chris Worsley’s through ball.
Ryan Crowther added a fifth goal 3 minutes from time as he fired a 25-yarder into the bottom corner.
