The new look Hyde side under Gary Lowe started off nervously and Matt Birley should have put the visitors ahead but shot wide, when through on goal. Shortly after Hyde took the lead against the run of play. Good build up play found Berkeley and his cross from the right found Ryan Crowther at the back post to tuck it away. 10 minutes later the lead was increased when Scott Spencer was put through but he was brought down by goalkeeper Dormand and he tucked away the resultant penalty. Right on half time Renshaw blocked a Carey-Bertram shot with his hand to concede a penalty. Symons penalty was weak and was easily saved by Carnell. Carnell produced a wonder save at the start of the 2nd half to deny Danny Edwards, Crowther and Spencer both had chances to increase the lead, but the game turned when Renshaw lunged in an received a 2nd yellow card. Symons immediately reduced the deficit when he beat Carnell to head home. Matthew Berkeley nearly added a 3rd when he spun on the edge of the area but hit the post.
