Report by Luke Edwards

A late goal from Andy Todd broke Hyde hearts in a game they deserved to get something from. Hyde welcomed back Dean Stott into the team to replace the now departed Ashley Young. The Tigers arrived late after traffic problems on the motorway and it showed in the early part of the first half as they looked sluggish and it was Todd who got through early on but his rasping shot was well parried by Russ Saunders, on 8 minutes it was Saunders again to the rescue tipping Stevenson’s shot over.

His best of the lot came in the 25th minute when a he stopped a point blank header from Mat Bailey following a corner, Hyde did come back into the game more and nullified Eastwood and were glad to hear the half-time whistle.

2nd half playing down the slope was a much better performance from the Tigers as they showed more attacking verve matty Barlow and Kevin Holsgrove both had shots saved by John Danby, before a cross from Matt Doughty looped over Danby’s head and hit the top of the crossbar at the other end Saunders almost spilled a shot from Peter Knox into the goal before the deciding goal on 89 minutes when a half cleared cross found Todd who’s low drive through a crowd of players left both Saunders and Doughty on the line unsighted and the ball sneaked in to leave the Tigers and their travelling faithful feeling hard done by.
