Despite going down to 10 men early in the second half and already being a goal down, Hyde produced a dramatic fightback to earn a last minute victory at the New Windmill ground thanks to Dale Johnson .

It looked bleak for the Tigers after an inept first half performance saw them go a goal down to the impressive James Rowe after just ten minutes. It could have been worse for Hyde but for the heroics of Russell Saunders. The nearest Hyde came to an equaliser was a deflected shot from Andy Smart.

Hyde were sent out early from a half time rollicking and Johnson went close after just five minutes. Three minutes later Steve Halford headed home only for the referee to rule it out for a foul. Matty Burke was then shown a straight red for a robust challenge on 58 minutes. It looked a harsh decision but the Leamington reactions possibly pursuaded the official.

The Tigers had to re-organise and forfeited Tom Manship for Scott Mooney.Things suddenly started to happen for Hyde and Smart, having his best game for some time, scored with a screamer from the left wing with 20 minutes remaining.

Johnson twice went close as Hyde went for the jugular and the visitors were rewarded in the last minute when Johnson grabbed a last minute winner with a great cameo goal. It was nothing less than Hyde deserved after their second half endeavours and a rare Cup victory.
