Match Details: Tuesday 24th November 2009 F.A. Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round Replay
Attendance: 464 Nuneaton Town: Acton Dean Hadland Pierpoint Oddy Noon Armson Walker Nisevic (Matthews 66) Marsden Moore (Foster 88) Subs not used: Murphy Needham Spacey After Saturday’s pulsating tie at Ewen Fields, this replay was anything but. On a windswept night at the Liberty Stadium, Hyde went out of the FA Trophy to a late goal in a dreadful game. It was tough on the Tigers as they had defended heroically throughout, but on the other hand, they had failed to muster a shot on target throughout. The all-important goal came just six minutes from time after Michael Jones had produced an excellent save, but as the ball squirmed out of his grasp, Justin Marsden reacted the quickest to squeeze the ball home. Jones had made a number of excellent saves in difficult conditions as Hyde struggled to take advantage of plenty of possession and once again paid the penalty for lack of firepower upfront. Neil Tolson has plenty to do to rally this troops with three tough games coming up in the next week. |
