With three defenders missing through injury it was not the ideal time for the Tigers to travel to Tamworth who were in the midst of a ten match unbeaten run. Although on the plus side the Lamb’s boss, Gary Mills had just won the Manager of the month award, which is normally a kiss of death.

Hyde went into the game with Gerry Harrison and Chris Brass at the centre of the defence with Adam Oakes coming in at left back and although at times the Tigers performed heroically they had no answer to the title favourites who clinched the game with goals minutes either side of half time.

On a miserable day, Hyde had the wind in the first period but couldn’t really take advantage. The closest they came to scoring was after Chris Simm had been brought on the edge of the area. A booking for Wylde but Matthew Tipton’s free kick went just over.

The Lambs took the lead on 42 after good work by Rodman sent the ball low towards Craig Dootson but Sheldon nipped in to make sure from a yard out for his 7th goal of the season. Hyde faced an ever increasing gale at the start of the second period and immediately conceded again when Wright’s shot deflected over the defence allowing Pritchard to capitalise and steer the ball into the net from close range.

Hyde never really looked like getting back into the game and it was just a matter of damage limitation as the conditions worsened. The Tigers have now failed to register any points on their travels this season and the new Management team have plenty to do to get things right .
