It was an absolutely dreadful game devoid of any meaningful action, not helped by an over fussy referee who thought everybody present were there to watch him. James Dean came the closest to scoring in the first half with an header over the bar and a smart save from Adam Sollitt. In the second period, Sollitt did not have a save to make, whilst his counterpart Craig Dootson had nothing serious to do either. The visitors stepped up the pressure in the final quarter of an hour, but their finishing was woeful. The closest they came was on 89 minutes when Jamie Tandy headed clear from underneath the bar. It was however a rare clean sheet for the Tigers. The last incidentally was against the same opposition in March, but there was little else to cheer the sparse crowd in an instantly forgettable game. |
