September 2021 to Current Nicky was appointed Tigers manager in February 2022 with a brief to keep the faltering side in the NPL Premier Division, a task that was duly accomplished and also saw the team to the Manchester Premier Cup Final. He had a playing career at Bolton Wanderers, Oldham Athletic, Charleston Battery, Chester City, Leigh RMI and briefly at Hyde under Steve Waywell. After hanging up his boots, he entered the coaching world with Bolton Wanderers, occupying various youth roles for 17 years and then had a stint as a youth coach at FC Halifax Town before taking his first managerial role here at Hyde. Spooner's first two seasons at Ewen Fields saw Hyde finish sixth, just shy of the play off places and he resided over Hyde's first silverware in a while, triumphing in the 2023/24 Cheshire Senior Cup. |
