Managers of Hyde FC

Gary Lowe
July 2011 - May 2012
& January 2015 - March 2016

Gary Lowe was appointed Hyde FC manager in July 2011. He had spent a number of years with Tameside neighbours Curzon Ashton but made the decision to end his time there at the end of the 2010/11 season after being at Tameside Stadium/National Park for eleven years. Lowe's appointment at the time was not seen by many supporters as the big name that could take the club forward but Lowe got on with the job in hand, retaining only Callum Byrne from the previous season (he was a loanee at the time) he assembled a squad made up mainly of players from lower leagues who he believed could cut it at Conference North level. After a mixed pre season, his squad of rookies won their first ten games of the new season, equalling a club record and he quickly won over those supporters who were unsure of his appointment. The squad became known for their passing style and whilst the great start came to an end, the results kept on coming. In the end it came down to a race between Hyde and Guiseley for the title with The Tigers taking the crown with a game to spare. In his first season in charge, Lowe had led Hyde to their highest position within the football pyramid and to a Conference Premier place. Unfortunately Gary could not agree on a budget for the higher league as the board, wary of the club's past, were looking to keep costs to a minimum and Gary resigned his post after one amazing season.

In January 2015 Gary took charge of Hyde again following the departure of Scott McNiven with the club well adrift at the bottom of the Conference North. Although it was widely acknowledged that the style of play got better and the team was progressing, results remained poor and Hyde were relegated to the Northern Premier League. Hyde made a fairly good start to the following season and by October were looking as though the play offs would be an achievable goal, however just three wins in twenty nine games saw them embroiled in a relegation scrap and Lowe was relieved of his duties.
