Bamber Bridge, making their first visit to Hyde on either grass or plastic, were in the mood to spoil the party and took the lead after just 3 minutes, Kenny Mayers heading in a Dave Leaver free kick. Hyde came back strongly and just six minutes later David Nolan had the scores level again. Hyde carried on pressing and it was no surprise when Ged Kimmins shot them into a 22nd minute lead. The second half saw Bamber Bridge step up a gear and they were level on 53 minutes, Dave Leaver converting from the penalty spot after seeing his shot handled by a Hyde defender. With the visitors getting on top it was no real surprise when Simon Burton headed them into a 75th minute lead after a fine cross from Jason Kerfoot. The visitors held out to keep them clear at the top of the table. First Match on grass at Ewen Fields since 1986. Download the report |
