Attendance: 467 Hyde United: Kurt Edgington Kojoe Taylor Richard Annan Gus Wilson Paul Taylor Scott Brenchley Lloyd Richardson Don Page Simon Yeo Peter Band (Mike Turner) Prince Moncrieffe (Steve Haw) Subs not used: Chris Dolby Bamber Bridge: Not available An early corner saw Leaver head just wide as Bridge showed they would be strong in the air. Lloyd Richardson hit a long shot which was straight at Dootson & Richard Annan struck a thunderbolt but Yeo deflected the ball away with his head unfortunately. Bamber attacked down the left and Greenwood just failed to connect with his head. On the stroke of halftime Moncrieffe's 18 yard shot was deflected behind for a corner. Moncrieffe clipped the post early in the second half when he raced past two defenders and fired in a shot. Yeo's looping shot was then kept out by back-pedalling Dootson and then the games most controversial moment happened. A Lloyd Richardson corner was fumbled by the keeper and Steve Haw's shot was stopped on the line by a defenders arms, the linesman raised his flag for a penalty but then amazingly put it down and carried on much to the disgust of the whole stadium. The Linesman thought he was off the hook when, in the ninetieth minute, Annan & Turner played in Simon Yeo to slot home and seemingly win the game for the Tigers. Yeo then gave the ball away on the halfway line and Bamber forced a corner from which Andy Whittaker knocked the ball home from close range. |
