The game was largely forgettable as Hyde proved just why they are bottom of the Unibond League table whilst the visitors didn't stop to take pity on them. The only real incident of the first half saw Neil Critchley hit the crossbar and the midfielder struck the woodwork again just after the break when his free kick came back off the post. Warrington's strong work ethic paid off when they took the lead on 57 minutes, Chris Moores heading home from a corner kick. Hyde never really looked like scoring although they weren't helped by playing the final ten minutes a player short. Neil Critchley broke his nose and headed up the tunnel but rather than replaced the injured player the management team decided to take off Steve Foster and use up our last substitute, a decision that baffled everyone in the tiny crowd. |
