The Supporters' Club is the official supporters' club of Hyde United FC. Our primary aims are to provide match day assistance and financial assistance to Hyde United FC.
The Supporters' Club is run by an elected committee of volunteer officers consisting of the following people:
Chairman: James Brindley
Vice Chairmen: Dan Bradley and Luke Edwards
Treasurer: Steve Johnson
Assistant Treasurer: James Brindley
Secretary (Acting): Luke Edwards, Carol Hardy, James Brindley
Assistant Secretary: Mark Dring
Membership Secretary: Don Goodwin
At this point, it would be remiss of us not to mention the enormous contribution over recent years of Supporters' Club Secretary Chris Hilton, who went missing on 27th July 2008. Chris was a major contributor to both the Supporters' Club and Hyde United FC. In his role of Supporters' Club Secretary he was instrumental in guiding us through a major overhaul of our Constitution in early 2008.
The revised Constitution of The Supporters' Club is modelled to a great extent on those of supporters' trusts such as AFC Wimbledon. We remain, however, the official Supporters' Club of Hyde United FC. We have regular dialogue with the Board of Directors of Hyde United FC, with whom we have an excellent working relationship.
Under our revised Constitution, Committee Members serve two years in their posts before having to seek re-election by the members of the Supporters' Club.
The Supporters' Club run both the Tea Bar and the Club Shop. We also play a major part in contributing to and collating the match day programme, which we sell through our Programme Stall.
The Supporters' Club are manic fundraisers. Fund-raising activities include the Weekly Predictions Jackpot, the 50/50 half-time draw, sponsored walks and fund-raising evenings. We also help organise the End of Season Awards Night. And our Treasurer Steve Johnson, ably assisted by Tim Bradley, does the half-time bucket collection, the proceeds of which go towards our Ground Improvement Fund.
We also provide match day assistance through our band of volunteers, who are expertly marshalled by Match Day Co-ordinator Mark Tonge.
Membership of the Supporters' Club is currently free of charge and is open to anyone associated with Hyde United FC.
We are always looking for new members and in particular for new volunteers. We usually meet at 7.30pm on the last Thursday of the month in the Peter O'Brien Executive Lounge. So if you want to find out more about us, please come along.
